Late last summer my wife and I heard about this European White Stork somewhere in Northern California. At the time, I was home recovering from a back injury. A week later, on my birthday,
she asked if I was up to a stork adventure? Back injury aside, who would miss the opportunity to
photograph this rare bird? After three long hours of a futile search we decided to abandon this
area and continue our search else where. At that moment a car was approaching so we stopped it and inquired about the illusive stork. The driver looked at us, smiled and said follow me. We drove up to a pond and this is what we saw. While I was photographing the stork, my wife turned and screamed happy birthday.
